A man playing in shallow water at the top of Yosemite Falls fell over the edge and plunged 1,400 feet to his death, officials said. John Eric Osner, 20, of Santa Barbara was sliding in shallow pools at the head of the falls when he slipped and fell over the edge, Park Service spokeswoman Mallory Smith said. “He was playing in the water, like on a water slide,” Smith said. “He didn’t stop before he got to the edge, and he went over the brink.”
