Murray Storm, former director of the county Environmental Management Agency, was appointed Tuesday to the Waste Management Advisory Commission by Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez.
“Murray Storm is uniquely qualified to serve on the Waste Management Commission,” Vasquez said. “He comes to the position with 30 years’ experience in county government and specific knowledge on the waste management issues in Orange County.”
Storm, a resident of Mission Viejo, was also in charge of the Refuse Disposal Division of county agency, where he played a role in landfill-site decisions, Vasquez said.
The waste management commission is an advisory board to the supervisors, dealing with issues involving county landfills, as well as recycling, hazardous waste and the Fire Department’s Household Hazardous Waste Plan.
