Crenshaw : New Low-Cost Loans Area
The boundaries of a city-run program providing low-interest home improvement loans have been expanded to include the Crenshaw area.
The housing rehabilitation program, which is administered by Los Angeles’ Community Development Department, has been expanded to include an area stretching roughly from Vermont Avenue on the east to Crenshaw Boulevard on the west, from 78th Street on the south to Exposition Boulevard on the north.
Loans of up to $50,000 are available to rehabilitate multiple-unit buildings and single-family homes. Interest rates range from zero to 10%. The type and amount of the loans are based on family income and the kind of improvements to be made. For information, call (213) 294-8133.
