Avoid China

We visited China in 1987 and found it to be a fascinating country, but I strongly disagree with R. Van de Genachte’s statement (Letters, Aug. 6) that “this is the time to travel in China.” The best way Americans can show our revulsion for the massacre in Beijing and the ensuing political situation is to stay away in droves.
