In the first of several moves planned by NBC Sports President Dick Ebersol, the new overseer of NBC News’ “Today” show, Deborah Norville and veteran NBC newsman John Palmer will switch jobs, with Palmer moving from anchoring news reports of “Today” to those of “NBC News at Sunrise,” and Norville from “Sunrise” to Palmer’s “Today” post. NBC said Tuesday that the change, in which Norville also will do feature reporting and regularly fill in for vacationing “Today” co-anchors, is effective Sept. 5.
