WASHINGTON — A New Jersey company is recalling 47,000 “Hush Puppies” sweat suits for children because a noisemaking device behind the plastic dog decal on the suit can come loose and present a choking hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The agency said that the suits were supplied by The Haddad Group Ltd. of Bayonne, N.J., and were sold at Montgomery Ward stores from August until mid-December, 1988. No injuries have been reported.
The suits may be returned to any Montgomery Ward store or mailed to The Haddad Group Ltd., 90 East 5th St., Bayonne, N.J., 07002, for a full refund plus postage.
