A 72-year-old East San Diego man was robbed and his 65-year-old neighbor raped by an armed robber.
Police said the victims returned at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after eating dinner and the man went inside the house for a moment while the woman waited outside. The man was confronted by an armed robber who had entered the house through an open window.
According to a police account of the incident, the robber held a gun to the victim’s head and ordered him to call the woman inside. The assailant robbed the man of about $56, locked him in a back bedroom and raped the woman, police said.
After the attack, the man took the rape victim to a hospital, where she was treated and released, and notified police.
