Varian Employees to Get Subpoenas: Varian Associates Inc. said a number of employees will receive subpoenas to testify before a federal grand jury in Chicago in connection with the Justice Department’s antitrust investigation of the power grid tube industry. The number of employees getting subpoenas was not disclosed. “We are not aware of the specific concern” of the Justice Department in its probe, said Varian Chairman Thomas Sege.
