Services for Irving Stone Set Thursday

Memorial services for Irving Stone, the master of the historical novel who died late Saturday night, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday in Leo Baeck Synagogue, 1300 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Bel-Air.
The family has asked that contributions in Stone’s honor be made to the UCLA Foundation/Irving Stone Honors Scholarship Fund, 1332 Murphy Hall, 405 Hilgard Ave., Los Angeles, Calif. 90024-1413, or to the Irving Stone Science Award at the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History, 900 Exposition Blvd., Los Angeles, Calif.
Stone, of Beverly Hills, died of heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he had been treated for cancer for the last five weeks. He was 86.
