Olympic Native Posts Record Win

DEL MAR — Olympic Native overtook odds-on favorite On the Line in the final furlong to win the $78,600 Pat O’Brien Handicap by a half-length Wednesday at Del Mar.
Ridden by Robbie Davis, Olympic Native set a track record of 1:20 2/5 for seven furlongs while scoring his third victory of the season.
On the Line, with Gary Stevens up, shook off 8-5 second choice Sam Who around the turn and beat him to the wire by 11 lengths. Major Current was fourth to round out the field.
Olympic Native earned $44,850 and paid $15 and $3. On the Line paid $2.20. There was no show wagering.
