The Cal Lutheran women’s soccer team had never won a match before Thursday’s 2-1 nonconference victory over visiting Claremont-Mudd.
That’s because the Cal Lutheran women’s soccer team had never played a match before Thursday.
Sophomore Vanessa Martin scored two goals and freshman goalkeeper Kara Lamb made seven saves to make the Regals’ inaugural contest a success.
MEN’S SOCCER
Simon Fraser 3, The Master’s 3--Simon Fraser was awarded the victory because of its 5-4 advantage in a sudden-death shoot-out after two scoreless overtime periods in a first-round match of the Fresno Pacific tournament.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
The Master’s d. Mt. St. Mary’s, 15-13, 15-13, 15-10--Teresa Stanley had 12 kills to lead the Mustangs (6-10) in a nonconference match at Master’s.
Carla Vande Steeg, a sophomore, added 10 kills for Master’s.
