Cineplex Odeon Chairman Misses Deadline: A special committee of directors confirmed that Cineplex Odeon Corp. Chairman Garth H. Drabinsky failed to meet a deadline for financing his $16.40-a-share (Canadian) bid for the movie theater company. The committee said it was discussing whether to grant an extension. Separately, Drabinsky said he is “highly confident” that financing can be obtained for an alternative bid.
