Jordache Won’t Be Prosecuted: The Justice Department will not prosecute jeans maker Jordache Enterprises or its principals, the Nakash brothers, for tax and customs violations, government officials said. Spurred on by New York-based Jordache’s archrival, Guess? Inc. of Los Angeles, federal agents for three years investigated allegations that Jordache misrepresented the value of its imports from Hong Kong. Jordache’s complaints about the probe prompted congressional hearings in July on allegedly close ties between Guess?’ founders, the Marciano brothers, and the Internal Revenue Service’s top criminal investigator in Los Angeles.
