Cleveland 31, Canoga Park 7--Reserve quarterback Aaronn Castro, a freshman, ran for touchdowns of 10 and seven yards as the Cavaliers (4-5, 3-4) secured a berth in the 4-A playoffs.
Castro entered the game in the second quarter and shared time with Steve Bryant, who completed eight of 11 passes for 111 yards. Castro completed four of four passes for 45 yards and scored on his only two carries.
Tailback Pat Bryant led Cleveland rushers with 77 yards in 14 carries, his last a 46-yard touchdown to complete the scoring.
Canoga Park tailback Scott Byrd rushed for 64 yards in 16 carries and scored the Hunters’ only touchdown on a six-yard run. Quarterback David Erhardt completed 10 of 25 passes for 81 yards with one interception for the Hunters (1-8, 1-6).
