Escondido to Set Up Alcohol Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint will be set up in Escondido during the Thanksgiving weekend, police said this week.
The checkpoint will operate from 8:30 tonight until 3 a.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of Bear Valley Parkway.
Along with an increased number of patrol officers, the checkpoint will be used to deter people from drinking and driving this holiday weekend, Officer John Foster said, noting that in the past the city has operated the checkpoints only at Christmas.
