* Senior running back/defensive back Josh Moore rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns and had two interceptions to help West Torrance beat Harvard, 29-9, in a CIF playoff opener and extend the Warriors’ winning streak to 10 games.
* Serra free safety Clayton Lopez returned a fumble 30 yards for a touchdown and intercepted his eighth pass of the season to lead the 11-0 Cavaliers past Morningside, 18-0, in a CIF playoff opener.
* Maya Muneno and freshman Tami Wilcox paced the Palos Verdes girls cross-country team to its fifth consecutive Southern Section 4-A title by placing seventh and eighth at the CIF finals.
* Piper Hahn had 45 assists and Kristal Attwood contributed 24 kills to lead the Mira Costa girls volleyball team over Corona del Mar in four games in the Southern Section 5-A finals, giving the Mustangs their eighth CIF title.
Who’s Not
* Narbonne’s football team, which snapped a 23-game losing streak by beating L.A. Wilson in the third week this season, has another skid in the works. The Gauchos were beaten Friday by Gardena, 36-18, for their seventh straight loss and 30th in 31 games.
* Hawthorne’s defense allowed only 32 points as the Cougars raced to an 8-0 record this season, but gave up 76 points in losing two of the last three, including a 33-26 setback to San Marcos in a CIF playoff opener.
* Palos Verdes lost its CIF football playoff opener to Newbury Park, 19-9, the fourth time since 1984 that the Sea Kings have failed to advance past the first round.
* South Torrance’s football team lost in the first round of the CIF playoffs to San Marino for the second straight year, 14-6. The injury-riddled Spartans ended the season losing three of their last four games.
