Robber Finds Cash Gone, Settles for Takeout Order

ELMONT, N.Y. — An armed robber who entered a Chinese restaurant and demanded money in English ran into some bad luck when the cashier said she did not understand him, police said Saturday.
The cash register at the restaurant had been emptied before the robber entered Friday night, and he did not get any cash. But he refused to go home empty-handed, grabbing a takeout order before fleeing, a police spokesman said.
