California IN BRIEF : VENTURA COUNTY : Temblor Centered Northeast of Ojai

A small earthquake beneath Los Padres National Forest jolted a few Ventura County residents early Saturday. The 7:21 a.m. temblor had a magnitude of 3.5 and was centered 10 miles northeast of Ojai, said Hall Daily, spokesman for Caltech in Pasadena. About a half-dozen people called Ojai police about the quake but none reported problems, said dispatcher Jeff Mercer. City police in Ventura and the county Fire Department received no reports of damage.
