Loyola Marymount, despite 57 points by Bo Kimble, lost a basketball exhibition to Athletes in Action, 129-120, Saturday at Gersten Pavilion.
It was the second consecutive game in which Kimble has scored more than 50 points. But the Lions missed the inside scoring of Hank Gathers, who remained out of the lineup pending further medical tests to determine why he blacked out in a game Dec. 9. Kimble scored 41 points after halftime.
AIA, which completed its season 9-21, led most of the game. Its leading scorer was Lorenzo Romar, who had 31 points. Former UCLA guard Rod Foster scored 24. Loyola’s Jeff Fryer, coming back from a hand injury, had 16 points.
Gathers will undergo tests Monday and has not been given medical clearance for Tuesday’s game at Oregon State.
