East German Uwe-Jens Mey moved closer to winning the men’s speedskating World Cup series with a victory over American Dan Jansen in the 500 meters at Seoul, South Korea.
In the women’s events, American Bonnie Blair beat East German Angela Hauk in the 500 meters with a time of 41.15. Hauk, the first-day leader, was second in 41.45 and Christine Aaftink of The Netherlands was third at 41.55.
