Xerox Seeks Dismissal of Discrimination Case: Xerox Corp. asked a federal judge to throw out a verdict awarding more than $9 million to a 47-year-old former employee who claimed the company discriminated against her because of age. On Jan. 9, the jury awarded Elizabeth Layman $284,000 in actual damages and $8.75 million in punitive damages.
