LOCAL : Sun Valley Man Stabbed to Death

Los Angeles police are investigating the murder of a man who was found stabbed to death in his Sun Valley home after an apparent break-in this morning. No arrests were made.
Gregory Ellis Kellel-Sophiea, 38, was found stabbed several times in the bedroom of the home in the 9700 block of Orcas Avenue, Detective Al Ferrand said.
Kellel-Sophiea was found about 3:15 a.m. by his wife, who had been sleeping in another room in the house, Ferrand said. The wife and a 6-year-old daughter, whose identities were not released, apparently had not heard the attack, he said.
The home had been broken into, but no motive was known for the attack, Ferrand said. There was no indication that anything was taken from the house, he said.
Police were unable to determine if Kellel-Sophiea was attacked in his sleep or had fought his assailant.
