Mission Viejo’s Slymen Plans to Attend Oregon

Mark Slymen, a defensive tackle at Mission Viejo High School, said Tuesday he has made an oral commitment to attend Oregon next fall, but will probably redshirt his freshman year.
Slymen also considered offers from Cal and Long Beach State, but chose Oregon after visiting there last weekend.
“Most of the players up there redshirt their first season,” Slymen said. “It should be a good chance for me to get to know the program better and get settled academically.”
