The United States and South Korea have agreed to form a committee that will encourage further trade and investment between the two nations.
“Our ability to address areas of potential cooperation will lead not only to expanded trade but reduced friction,” said Commerce Secretary Robert Mosbacher, who met with Han Seung-Soo, the trade minister of South Korea, last week.
Their session marked the 13th annual U.S.-Korea Commerce Ministers’ Meeting.
The new committee will work closely with the business community in the two countries and organizations such as the U.S.-Korea Business Council and U.S.-Korea Society, the Commerce Department said.
