Business Tax

All small businesses in Los Angeles have received a 500% increase in their business tax renewals. Big businesses are not affected at all.
Since small businesses have been, and are, the backbone of this country, I suggest that all those affected by this inequity should write to their city councilman as well as Donald DeBord, chief, Tax Permit Division, 201 N. Main St., Room 101, and request this increase be modified to an overall percentage increase for all businesses. The more one makes, the more one can afford to pay. If there has to be an increase, it should be felt by all businesses.
This increase is an insult to small businesses. It is unconscionable and should be rescinded. City Council members who voted for this should be ashamed for treating small business in such an unfair way.
Talk about ethics!
