P. M. BRIEFING : Wang CEO Hospitalized Again

BOSTON — Computer entrepreneur An Wang, who underwent surgery for esophageal cancer eight months ago, has been readmitted to Massachusetts General Hospital, company officials said today.
The 70-year-old founder of Wang Laboratories Inc. was admitted Tuesday; his condition and diagnosis were not divulged, said company spokesman Paul Guzzi.
Wang “wanted people to know he is working from the hospital,” including taking several telephone calls Thursday, Guzzi said.
Wang, who in 1951 founded the computer firm for which he is still chief executive officer and chairman, had a malignant tumor removed from his esophagus in July. President Richard Miller has been administering the loss-ridden firm’s day-to-day operations since taking over from the founder’s son, Fred Wang.
