Robinson is a master at creating a romantic mood and he’s probably written more great love ballads in his lifetime than Lionel Richie and Luther Vandross combined. There’s nothing wrong with the songs he’s assembled here. They’re just not knock-your-socks-off memorable. The lone exception is “Everything You Touch.” With its easy-does-it sensuality, this song is a bona fide beauty that invites repeated listenings. Elsewhere, Robinson is alternately teasing (“Don’t Wanna Be Just Physical”) and tasteful (“It’s the Same Old Love”) as he ambles through his patented balladeer paces. An OK album . . . just not a particularly exciting one.
