Narrow-Street Parking

“Parking Solution a Two-Way Street” by Sam Hall Kaplan (March 4) was quite interesting. However, you did appear to miss one critical point regarding 17th Street.
The problem with the commercial and residential parking is one of safety. The street is just not wide enough for two cars to pass, with two cars parked on the sides. There needs to be a stripe down the center of 17th Street and no parking on at least one side!
Permits and diagonal parking are only part of the solution.
