HAL Inc.: The Honolulu-based parent of Hawaiian Airlines said it lost $46.9 million in 1989, compared to an $8.8-million loss in 1988. Revenue declined slightly to $348.9 million. The company said operating expenses rose in 1989 and passenger traffic decreased due to reduced capacity. In addition, maintenance efforts restricted flight activity throughout the year.
