A 51-year-old woman was killed Thursday when a car driven by another woman crashed into her vehicle, said El Cajon police.
Bernice Elkins was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at about midnight Thursday, said a police spokeswoman.
Tammie Renee Evans, 27, is being held County Jail at Las Colinas in Santee on suspicion of felony drunk driving, vehicular manslaughter and driving without car insurance.
Police said Evans was traveling south about 9 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Main Street when she drifted across the median and crashed into Elkins’ car.
