Raymond D. Edwards, chairman of Glenfed Inc. since 1972, will retire from that post on June 30 as part of a long-planned management succession.
Edwards, 71, will remain a member of the board of the Glendale-based parent of Glendale Federal Bank. Norman M. Coulson, currently vice chairman, president and chief executive, will retain those posts and succeed Edwards as chairman.
Keith P. Russell Jr., currently senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, will become president on July 1.
“This transition is part of a management succession program that has been in place for the last three years,” said Coulson. “We are pleased that we will continue to have the expertise of Ray Edwards as a member of the board.”
