CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : San Diego : Grand Jury Suggests Asbestos Exams

County grand jurors recommended that people who work in the aging downtown courthouse--from judges to janitors--have physical examinations at least once a year because of concern about cancer-causing asbestos in the 663,000-square-foot building. Grand jury foreman Phil Franklin advised courthouse workers to ask county supervisors to eliminate the health hazard.
