The Chicago Blackhawks traded center Denis Savard to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Chris Chelios and future considerations.
Savard, 29, was Chicago’s leading scorer, averaging 110 points a year, including playoffs, and scoring 100 or more points in five seasons.
