NATION IN BRIEF : LOUISIANA : Both Sides Pressure Roemer on Abortion

People on both sides of the issue descended on Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer in Baton Rouge in an attempt to persuade him to sign or veto a tough anti-abortion law. Anti-abortion forces staged a rally at the Capitol and abortion rights advocates held a press conference on the Capitol steps. Roemer said he had received a telegram apparently from Mother Teresa urging him to sign the bill, which he intends to veto because it does not allow abortions in cases of rape or incest.
