A 19-year-old woman who Oceanside police thought had been abducted by her boyfriend has turned up in Tijuana because the two eloped, a police spokesman said.
“They were going to get married and go to Mexico City,” said spokesman Sgt. Bill Krunglevich.
On Tuesday, witnesses told police that they saw Irma Martinez being forced into a van in the 1600 block of Kraft Street by two men, one of whom was identified as her ex-boyfriend, George Rios, 20, of Oceanside.
After sending investigators to Tijuana Wednesday night, Oceanside police closed the case after determining that Martinez was with Rios because she wanted to be.
