RUNWAY TO REALITY : Dressing Up for a Fall Night Out

Paris designer Azzedine Alaia’s bra-top evening dress is one hot number that Los Angeles starlets are bound to want to strut around in this fall.

It’s a long stretch of black spandex that extends to the ankle, with Alaia’s signature contoured seaming around the hips. It is available at Gallay on Sunset Boulevard, for $1,745.

For starlets on a tighter budget, North Hollywood designers Maggie Barry and Stephen Walker for Van Buren have a similar spandex showstopper in their fall collection.

It is mid-calf, not ankle length like Alaia’s, without the fancy stitching, but with a faux snake push-up bra top. (Van Buren designs appear regularly on MTV.)

The dress is carried at Traction Avenue in the Beverly Center and Pole on Melrose Avenue with a price tag of $245.
