COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT WEEKDAY UPDATE : USC : Washington State Has Extra Incentive

Washington State, which will play USC Saturday night at the Coliseum, will be motivated this week by “remarks that were exchanged on the field” in last year’s USC-Washington State game, WSU Coach Mike Price said.
He declined to elaborate.
USC Coach Larry Smith was surprised by Price’s comment.
“I don’t know what he’s talking about, to be quite honest with you,” Smith said. “It was a very intense game, I know that. But I have no idea what remarks (he’s) talking about. I made no remarks to him and, to my knowledge, he made no remarks to me. If it was between players, we (coaches) usually don’t find out about that stuff.”
USC won last season at Pullman, 18-17.
