Chartwell Hires Adviser on Avon: Chartwell Associates L.P., owner of a minority stake in Avon Products Inc., has retained Lehman Bros. to explore ways the cosmetics giant could enhance shareholder value. The dissident shareholder group said it asked Lehman Bros., a unit of American Express Co., “to recommend a plan designed to build and deliver value for all stockholders, now and over the long term.”
