Travel Alert for Haiti

WASHINGTON — The State Department warned Americans on Thursday to defer all non-essential travel to Haiti because of possible violence surrounding December elections there. The warning is valid immediately and stays in effect until Feb. 15, 1991, two months after balloting Dec. 16.
