Jenkins Is Named West Baseball Coach
Former Redondo High baseball Coach Harry Jenkins, who has been out of coaching for two years, has been named coach at West Torrance High.
Jenkins guided Redondo to 10 league titles in 19 seasons at Redondo. He resigned to pursue business interests after the 1988 season, when the Sea Hawks went 30-3 and reached the CIF-Southern Section 4-A semifinals.
Jenkins had intended to help Palos Verdes Coach Gil Eberhard this spring until West offered him a head coaching job.
Jenkins replaces Dick McGrath, who resigned after coaching West for one season.
