Trudeau Won’t Go: “Doonesbury” cartoonist Garry Trudeau was mysteriously bumped from a Thanksgiving trip to visit troops in Saudi Arabia, Newsweek reported. Trudeau was planning to take the USO-sponsored trip with comic Jay Leno. The official explanation from U.S. headquarters in Saudi Arabia was that Trudeau was not barred; his visit was merely postponed “due to logistics and transportation limitations,” Newsweek said. However, Trudeau might have ruffled some feathers with his comic strips satirizing U.S. policy in the Persian Gulf, the magazine said.
