International Remote Imaging Systems of Chatsworth said it narrowed its loss to $125,221 in the third quarter that ended Sept. 30 from a loss of $242,430 a year earlier. Revenues slipped 3% to $1.11 million from $1.14 million.
The manufacturer of urinalysis machines reported a loss of $269,569 in the nine months that ended Sept. 30, while revenues rose $10% to $3.34 million. In the same period in 1989, it lost $1.39 million on $3.03 million in revenues.
International Remote attributed the narrower losses in the latest three- and nine-month periods to increased product sales, and research and development revenues, improved profit margins and decreased operating expenses.
