Workshops to help applicants apply for 1992 San Diego city arts grants will be held Tuesday and Thursday and again in January.
The grants to arts organizations are funded by the city’s Commission for Arts and Culture, and will be awarded in two categories, according to spokeswoman Cindy Zimmerman. The commission will allocate funds for operating support and for special projects.
Organizations requesting operating support will be divided into groups based on their income for the last fiscal year, Zimmerman said. Money for special projects will be awarded for short term that are not part of an organization’s programming.
The workshops will be held Tuesday, 8-10 a.m. and 12-2 p.m., and Thursday, 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. A workshop will also be held 4-6 p.m. on Jan 7.
Grant applications must be postmarked no later than January 11 or hand delivered no later than 5 p.m., Jan. 14.
Application guidelines are available through the following branch libraries: Beckworth, Benjamin, Linda Vista, North Park, Otay Mesa, Pacific Beach, Point Loma and Rancho Bernardo.
For individual consultations, site visits and community group presentations, call Zimmerman at 533-3052.
