STATE HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL FINALS : Corona del Mar Wins Division I Title

Corona del Mar High won its second State Division I girls’ volleyball title Saturday night with a 15-3, 15-5, 11-15, 15-8 victory over Mountain View St. Francis in the championship game at Cal Poly Pomona.
Corona del Mar (28-1) won its 26th consecutive match. The school’s last state title was in 1984.
Lara Carlsen had 14 kills, Tracy Schriber had 13 and Stacy Petersen added 12 for Corona del Mar.
In Division II, La Habra won its second consecutive state title with a 15-5, 15-1, 15-5 victory over King City. The Highlanders (26-0) won their 45th consecutive match in a two-year span.
Missy Clements had 14 kills and Zrinka Kristich added 12 kills and seven aces for the Highlanders.
Amy McMahon had eight kills to lead King City (23-3).
In Division III, Linden, playing in the finals for the third consecutive year, won its first title with a 15-7, 3-15, 4-15, 15-5, 15-3 victory over Bakersfield Garces.
Cammie Stewart had 12 kills and Erika Probat added eight to lead Linden (24-2). Garces finished 17-9.
