Daniel-Love Team Wins by 5 Strokes

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — Beth Daniel and Davis Love III held off a challenge from Nancy Lopez and Jay Haas in Sunday’s final round and won the $1-million JC Penney golf tournament by five strokes.
Daniel and Love, who each earned $100,000, shot a four-under-par 67 to complete the 72-hole event at 18-under 266. An eagle at the par-five 14th hole broke the tight duel they had with Haas and Lopez, who were one stroke back with seven holes left.
Lopez and Haas finished three strokes ahead of Pam Wright-Jim Hallet and Missie McGeorge-Jim Thorpe.
