Brande’s Hearing Postponed Indefinitely

A Southern Section hearing, originally set for Tuesday to determine if Charlie Brande violated section rules while he coached girls’ volleyball at Corona del Mar High School, has been postponed indefinitely, Brande said Sunday.
Brande said he will meet with Stan Thomas, section commissioner of athletics, today and said “the whole thing will probably be dropped.” Brande said he will not return as Corona del Mar’s coach.
Thomas confirmed Sunday that the hearing has been postponed and has not yet been rescheduled.
Brande was suspended in August in the wake of an investigation into his coaching of club players with high school eligibility remaining. Corona del Mar won the State Division I title Saturday night.
