Sites Determined for Weekend’s Championship Football Games

Capistrano Valley High School will play host to Paramount in the Division II football championship at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Santa Ana Stadium.
The game is a rematch of last year’s Division III semifinal in which Paramount won, 36-35, in overtime. Paramount (13-0) has the longest winning streak (21) in the Southern Section and is the two-time defending Division III champion.
Capistrano Valley (11-2) is making its first appearance in a title game since winning the Central Conference title in 1980.
In Division III, Esperanza (13-0) will play host to St. Paul (8-3-2) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Cerritos College. Esperanza is making its first appearance in a championship game since 1984, when it lost to El Modena in the Southern Conference final.
Top-seeded Tustin (13-0) will play host to Sunny Hills (10-3) in the Division VI championship game at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Orange Coast College’s LeBard Stadium.
In Division IX, top-seeded Whittier Christian (12-0) lost the coin flip and will travel to second-seeded Tehachapi (12-1) for the title game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
