Born July 28, 1923, in Minneapolis, Hildebrand came to California as a infant, graduated from Hamilton High School in Los Angeles and served in the Navy during World War II.
For more than 20 years, he was a reviewer and drama writer for the now-defunct Los Angeles Herald Examiner, later becoming a publicist in the entertainment field, representing performers and production companies.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; sons James Hildebrand of Los Angeles and David Hildebrand of Hollywood Hills; daughter Claudia Arenal of Canoga Park; brother Glen Hildebrand of San Francisco, and a granddaughter.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday at St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church, 14061 Roscoe Blvd., Panorama City.
