COMMUNITY COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP

In the San Jose men’s basketball tournament:

Skyline 84, Orange Coast 71--Agustin Heredia and Mike Curtis scored 15 points for Orange Coast (7-5) in the third-place game.

In nonconference men’s basketball:

Fullerton 97, Rio Hondo 88--Kenny Cross and Gary Hunter each had 17 points and Bob Terry added 16 to lead the Hornets (7-4) at home. Keenan Ellison of Rio Hondo (1-7) had 20 points.

Rancho Santiago 106, Pomona Pitzer JV 79--Forward Erik Martin had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead Rancho Santiago (10-1). Vern Broadnax and Dave Yamate each had 14 points, Corie Blount had 12, Eric Kutas added 11 and Elton Moore had 10.

It marked the eighth time in 11 games this season that Rancho Santiago has scored 100 points or more.

In nonconference women’s basketball:

Saddleback 77, San Diego Mesa 59--Danielle Silva scored 25 points to lead Saddleback (7-2). Erin Schimeneck scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds for Saddleback, which has won five in a row.
