Blast Rips Through Soviet Petrochemical Factory

MOSCOW — An explosion ripped through a Soviet petrochemical plant in the Siberian city of Tomsk on Sunday, injuring an unknown number of people, the official Tass news agency said.
The explosion occurred when workers started up a section producing ethylene just after midday. The agency gave no other details.
